ISE 2013, Jan. 29-31 in Amsterdam, will be particularly big because one of our products is an awards finalist, and one of our top people will be speaking. It’s also the 10th anniversary of a show many regard as the biggest of its kind globally.
The ARK-DS262 digital signage player is a finalist in the EMEA InAVation Awards 2013, which recognizes the top products in Pro AV from the past 12 months. It’s the only independent region-wide awards scheme, and we’re very pleased to see our product among those cited.
Business Development Manager Bas Smeets is speaking on ISE’s opening day on the topic “What’s New in Digital Signage – OPS, mobile integration, open source platforms and more.” Bas plans to take his audience through the thinking behind Intel’s Open Pluggable Specification – which standardizes a design for small PCs that can be installed right inside commercial display panels. He’ll also provide an update on where OPS adoption is at, as well as future trends.
Bas will also walk the crowd through the emergence, application and implications of Google’s Android operating system, which the marketplace generally thinks of as smartphone and tablet software, but is now finding its way into more and more digital signage playback devices.
We’ll also have a substantial presence on the ISE 2013 trade show floor, mixed in with some 800 exhibitors that are focused on everything from digital signage solutions to image processing. The show attracts more than 40,000 visitors from IT and AV systems integrators to retail designers and brands.
We’ll be showing new digital signage solutions that are applicable to a variety of sectors, including corporate, retail, hospitality and education. The technology will range from the latest Intel-powered players to our touch applications.
The highlights include:
- The InAVate award-nominated ARK-DS262 signage solution uses the Open Pluggable spec, which means it can load and hot-swap from OPS-compliant LCD display panels, making installation and maintenance a breeze. The tiny, rugged unit runs on 3rd generation Intel Core i7/i3 processors, with built-in graphic processing that can handle HD video and 3D animation.
- The ARK-DS762 is a new unit that can drive as many as three independent displays with three distinct media output signals. Running off Intel 3rd-Gen Core i processors, the DS762 also supports Microsoft Kinect technology, making it ideal to enable retail applications like virtual mirrors or gesture-driven applications for stadiums, corporate lobbies, restaurants, hotels and other public spaces.
- We’ll also be taking about and showing our suite of value-added software tools. All Advantech signage boxes can be delivered, pre-loaded, with an embedded OS, as well as SUSIAccess remote device management software, Acronis data protection software, and network security software by McAfee. These are not throw-in software components like you find the first time you fire up a new PC. These are mission-critical device management and security applications that let Advantech customers create and manage signage solutions without concern about reliability, security or manageability.
You can see these products and meet some of the team at the Advantech exhibit in hall 10 stand R144. Just come by, or if you want to arrange a special demo or meeting during the event, please contact us first: iServices.EU@advantech.eu
You’ll also find Advantech at many booths around ISE as part of our partner program.
Last but not least, at the last hour of each show day we will host a Happy Hour where we serve champagne, Parmesan cheese and ham, you are welcome to visit us and enjoy the treat.
Safe travels and see you in Amsterdam!
